National Stadium

The Botswana National Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Gaborone, Botswana.

It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 22,000 people. The stadium is made up of a total of 10 stands, 3 of which are covered. The 3 large stands on each end of the stadium make up the north and south ends. The west side of the stadium is made up of 3 covered stands, while the east end is made up of 1 giant uncovered stand. From the 22nd to the 31st of May 2014, the stadium hosted the 2nd African Youth Games, Gaborone 2014 opening and closing ceremonies as well as the track and field events. A giant screen was erected on the middle north stand in August 2014.

UB Indoor sports Arena

A state of the art Campus Indoor Sports Centre offers sports and recreational activities for staff, students, and the wider community. At the heart of this climate controlled centre is a large multipurpose arena that can accommodate a wide range of sports and activities.
This is a versatile training and competition facility capable of hosting international events of the highest standard. The arena has a capacity of 3150 with two VIP lounges. The Netball World Youth Cup 2017 was hosted in this Indoor Sports Arena.

UB Stadium

A FIFA and IAAF accredited facility with a capacity of 8000 seated audience with 6 shaded stands. It has 8 lanes synthetic track with a home stretch of 10 lanes and field events facilities. Our soccer pitch has a natural grass playing surface with a state of the art drainage system. It can also host other sports like rugby and hockey. Our stadium has flood lights that give us the opportunity to host night activities.

UB stadium has hosted international competitions both in track and field (Africa Junior Championships 2011) and football. (2010 World Cup practice match Botswana vs New Zealand), Confederation of African Football (CAF) club championships (Gaborone United [Botswana] vs Orlando Pirates [South Africa], 2010).

UB Aquatic Centre

UB aquatic centre is one of the University of Botswana physical landmarks with two swimming pools, change rooms, first-aid room, covered stands and administration offices. Our Olympic size heated swimming pool is equipped with Hi-tech Colorado electronic timing system, multilevel (up to 10m) diving platforms and flood lights. Our internationally certified lifeguards are always available to guarantee your safe use of our facilities and assist in cases of emergency.

Boipuso/Ditshupo Hall
